Position will be open until filled.
GENERAL PURPOSE: Oversees maintenance, repair, and function of all buildings and grounds at Fort Concho as related to all events, operations, programs, and services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises a crew of three for cleaning, maintenance, repairs and grounds work.
- Coordinates all logistical and set up issues for site events and programs.
- Works with site manager for all short- and long-range maintenance and repair plans.
- Serves as site POC with contractors and vendors for maintenance and grounds issues.
- Serves as primary or secondary POC for emergency, security and after-hours/weekend calls and emergencies.
- Coordinates, assigns or seeks contractors for all electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
- Writes reports and maintains records on all maintenance and building/grounds issues.
- Serves as main staff liaison for all buildings and grounds issued with staff, volunteers, renters, and the general public.
- Oversees maintenance and operation of site fleet of trucks and service carts.
- Assists all staff, volunteers, and guests with buildings and grounds requests, issues, and repairs.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, to include some nights and weekends throughout year and on call status some nights and weekends.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years' experience in general building maintenance and grounds work.
- Two years' experience in supervising maintenance or grounds staff.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- A driver license with a good driving record is required.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
Required Knowledge of:
- Basic familiarity in operation and maintenance of standard mechanical tools and cleaning equipment.
- Basic grounds keeping and landscaping issues and familiarity with mowers and related equipment.
- Familiarity with general principles of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
- Familiarity of general cleaning and ongoing maintenance issues and procedures.
Required Skill in:
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical issues.
- Basic HVAC operations and repairs.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Ability to lift/move items at least 40 pounds.
- Some outdoor work in extremes of weather including heat, cold, wind and rain.
